I'm looking to upgrade my guitar this holiday season and I'd like to benefit from the knowledge and experience of those of you readers who are guitar playing types. I know you mostly get what you pay for concerning musical instruments, but I don't have much available for my budget ($300-$400ish). Any recommendations for an acoustic-electric guitar?

Have you seen a 'Silver Creek' guitar? A guy at my church has one and it really is a surprisingly nice guitar for $300 w/ a great case. You could have somebody put a pickup in it for under $100.
i will give you money to buy the one in the picture if you promise to play it in church.
